Why running start classes are important
Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! Long time no see as I have been super busy working 2 jobs, and doing online school! However, I am back and ready to talk about some things I learned from high school, that will help you! Running start classes are college-level classes you can take in high school, and you can earn college credit by taking the class! You just have to have a C+ average or higher, it’s that easy!
I learned about running start classes in my sophomore year of high school. I decided to take my first marketing class, as I was thinking about college and what I wanted to do. My guidance counselor informed me that I could receive college credit for taking marketing one! Of course, I was integrated, and decided to do it! The requirements for taking a running start class is to pay a $150 fee, as most college classes cost over $600, and to have a C+ average or higher. Some people decide to take AP level classes. However, these classes require you to take a test, while running start does not.
I decided to take 2 running start classes in high school, accounting, and marketing. Both of these classes helped me save money, and advance in college! By taking marketing in high school, this credit allowed me to be in a sophomore-level marketing class as a freshman! By taking accounting, the credit went towards an elective class, meaning I have to take fewer elective classes and saving money since I have to take fewer classes. Taking accounting in high school allowed me to be prepared for my college accounting class, as I knew many topics in my college accounting class since I took it in high school.
Each high school offers different classes, and they have several options for a variety of interests. I highly suggest this program for all high school students, as it has several amazing benefits. I was able to save money, time, learn college material at a young age, and overall it helped me prepare for college!
Every state may be different, but the link below is a list of all high schools in New Hampshire, and what programs they offer depending on what high school you attend.
