Quarantine forced all of us to start up new hobbies and try new things. For months I told myself I was not going to download TikTok, but I ended up hopping on the bandwagon during isolation and have been obsessed with it since. By just scrolling on my for you page I have stumbled across some amazing influencers who preach all things mental health. For today’s blog post and to continue my series of mental health social media resources I will be sharing my six favorite TikTok accounts. (Let’s just hope TikTok doesn’t get banned)
Starting off with Victoria Garrick (@victoriagarrick4)
You could say I am a big fan of Victoria Garrick. (oops!) Besides her Realpod podcast, Garrick has an amazing TikTok where she posts videos almost daily all about self-love, mental health, eating disorder advice, and workout tips. Garrick has a very strong social media presence, and TikTok is actually where she has her largest following. (over 400k!!) Go give her a follow!
Alex Sedlak (@alexsedlak1)
Alex Sedlak is a must-follow on TikTok. He has taught me so much about the power of your mindset and thoughts. He has a very large following on TikTok (over 800k followers) and also does mentorships outside of TikTok. His videos are very educational yet keep young viewers engaged. Sedlak is all about living in the present moment, having fun with life, and self-improvement.
Lara Ann ( @_laraann_)
Lara Ann is hands down my favorite influencer on TikTok. Her videos are amazing and are very inspiring. Her main focus is relationship advice, self-love, and recognizing your worth. Ann has been a go-to for me if I am feeling down and need some extra reassurance about what I deserve and how much I am loved.
Bre Socker (@brenotbri_)
I recently just followed Bre Socker on TikTok and have been obsessed with her content lately! Socker plays field hockey at the collegiate level for St. John Fisher College and most of her content is about how she works out to cope with her anxiety and depression. I love her energy and her daily vlogs, so make sure to go give her a follow!
Aidan Williams (@aidswilliams) and Anthony Villegas (@antstorm123)
Both of these guys post hilarious challenges and prank videos. Their content is not necessarily related to mental health but they both always put a smile on my face and make me laugh even if I’m feeling down. Recently both of them have been doing a ton of drive-through challenges at fast-food chains which are always so funny and comical. Go give them a follow for a good laugh!
Next week I will continue this series by sharing some of my favorite Instagram pages that are all about mental health and self-care! Make sure to follow our Instagram @head_inthegame to stay connected!
